Hi Everyone!

 

This August 20th my family and I have challenged ourselves (yes even Blakey Bear) to take part in the Color Run to raise important funds for Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation.

 

Each year Sydney Childrens Hospital Randwick treats over 61,000 sick and injured kids. The hospital, through having 4 children and all the random illnesses and injuries that can come with them, has always been fantastic in getting them better, and supporting us parents when we are sick with worry ourselves.

We have visited there too many times with our kids, and everytime the children's hospital have been amazing, getting our kids healthy again, and supporting us when we are so worried. Jade spent a week in with a blood infection after gastro, and again for 10 days with periorbital cellulitis, where she walked away not only healthy, but amazingly with 100% of her vision still! Blake had to visit when he was only 2 weeks old, with a resistant strain of MRSA in a huge lesion which the surgeons had to drain, while he was awake, and with me in a bundle of mess at the side of the bed. They have helped numerous times for dehydration, fish hooks in fingers, and broken bones! Amazing, every single time. We have been very blessed that we have only had to rely on them for a very small time in our lives, but we know that many children are much sicker than our kids have ever been, and this is why we have chosen to support the children's hospital foundation. We all want our kids to grow up happy and healthy, and be able to run around the backyard, or slide down a slippery dip, or play in the sprinkler. So please, help us raise funds for these guys, so they can help get more kids home, even if it's just your coffee budget for the week.
